How to link your Xero organisation to Invoice Harbour, and how to disconnect it when you need to.
Before you start
You need to be signed in to Invoice Harbour at app.invoiceharbour.com with a user that has admin access to your Xero organisation. Xero will ask you to sign in and choose which organisation to authorise.
Connect Xero
Follow these steps to connect your Xero organisation:
- Sign in to Invoice Harbour at app.invoiceharbour.com.
- Open the Settings page from the main navigation.
- Scroll to the Account Actions section.
- Click Setup Xero Auth. You'll be redirected to Xero to sign in.
- Sign in to Xero (if you aren't already), then select the Xero organisation you want to connect.
- Review the permissions Invoice Harbour is requesting and click Allow access.
- You'll be redirected back to Invoice Harbour.
If the button still says "Setup Xero Auth" after you finish, refresh the Settings page. If it still doesn't change, get in touch.
Disconnect Xero
Disconnecting severs the link between your business and Xero. Invoice Harbour will stop reading from or writing to Xero until you reconnect. Existing invoice data already in Invoice Harbour is not deleted.
- Sign in to Invoice Harbour at app.invoiceharbour.com.
- Open the Settings page.
- Scroll to the Account Actions section.
- Click the red Disconnect Xero button.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Read the warning, then click Disconnect Xero to confirm, or Cancel to back out.
- You'll see a confirmation toast ("Disconnected from Xero"), and the button will switch back to Setup Xero Auth.
Reconnecting after disconnect
To reconnect, just follow the Connect Xero steps above. You can connect the same Xero organisation again, or choose a different one when Xero prompts you.
Troubleshooting
- "You aren't allowed to disconnect Xero for this business." Your user role doesn't have permission to disconnect Xero. Ask an admin on your account to do it, or contact support.
- "Couldn't disconnect Xero, please try again." A temporary error. Wait a moment and try again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
- The wrong Xero organisation is connected. Disconnect Xero, then click Setup Xero Auth and choose the correct organisation when Xero prompts you.
